‘AIRS OF THE BAROQUE’: LYDIA BROTHERTON, SOPRANO; STEPHEN STUBBS, THEORBO; JEFFREY COHAN, FLUTE

This is the first concert in the very welcome Salish Sea Early Music Festival which carries on right into the spring and features very distinguished performers.  We have welcomed Steven Stubbs on two occasions this fall (including the very recent Christmas Oratorio) and we are delighted that he now gets together with two other very exciting artists.  A former member of Sequentia, Lydia Brotherton now sings increasingly in distinguished venues in Europe (Berlin). Jeffrey Cohan’s flute has been described as ‘magical’ wherever he plays. The programme features cantatas by Nicolas Bernier and Antonio Vivaldi, airs by Le Sieur Bouvard, and selections from Handel’s Nine German Arias.
