BEHZOD ABDURAIMOV, PIANO

23 year old Behzod Abduraimov (from Tashkent, Uzbekistan) was the grand prize winner of the 2009 London International Piano Competition.  He has since achieved a meteoric rise to fame (comparable to Lang Lang), being both wonderfully engaging as well as supremely talented.  One reviewer has said: ‘He has the neuro-motor responses of a jungle cat and the energy reserves of an Olympic athlete on peak form’.  But behind this, he has enormous sophistication, sensitivity and depth of feeling too. Returning to the Vancouver Recital Society by popular demand, this is a concert not to be missed.
