Franz Schubert was one of the greatest writers of melody, second perhaps only to Mozart. His Ninth Symphony is a majestic symphonic statement, and a sad reminder that this great composer died at only thirty-one years of age. Exciting young conductor Alexandre Bloch presides over a concert that also features great pianist Ingrid Fliter performing Haydn’s most popular work for keyboard and orchestra.
