EMANUEL AX, PIANO

There can be few more enterprising pianists in the world over the past three decades than Emanuel Ax.  Originally growing up in Winnipeg, his solo performances stand worthily alongside his great involvement in chamber music, highlighted by memorable collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma and Isaac Stern, and many other performers at the 92nd St. ‘Y’ in New York.  This concert gives us a taste of the new and unfamiliar from this artist – Bizet, Rameau and Debussy – plus the four Chopin Scherzi that the artist has played since his earliest days.
