MANDELRING QUARTET

This German string quartet has now been playing for almost 30 years and has become a fairly frequent visitor to Friends of Chamber Music.  Always known for strong technical address and insight into modern works, they play both Shostakovich and Ligeti for us this year. In 2009, they released the first-ever SACD cycle of the complete Shostakovich quartets.
