MICHAEL SLATTERY, TENOR WITH LA NEF; ‘DOWLAND IN DUBLIN’

American tenor Michael Slattery joins Montreal’s Ensemble La Nef to breathe life into the music of the great John Dowland and reveal its simple Irish melancholy.  Slattery has already recorded The Irish Heart and Dowland in Dublin, chosen by Opera News as one of the best recordings of 2012.  He has also recorded  Handel for Harmonia Mundi. The tenor made an unforgettable debut this year, stepping in at the last minute to sing Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for the New York Philharmonic’s celebrations of the composer’s 100th birthday.
